Introducing the Metascience Bulletin Board

The Metascience Alliance exists to facilitate communication, coordination, and collaboration across boundaries: Metascience happens in pockets scattered across countries, sectors, and disciplines, and good ideas too often stay stuck wherever they started. The Metascience Bulletin Board is our newest tool built to close that gap.

Picture the cork board at your local supermarket: the one advertising a babysitter, a Spanish tutor, a second hand guitar. Simple, unglamorous, and it works precisely because anyone can post to it and anyone can read it. We wanted the same thing for metascience, at global scale: a shared board where a funding call, a dataset, a job opening, or a "looking for collaborators" post can reach people well outside your own network, and where you don't need to already be well connected to see what's out there.

Diverse in the broadest sense. Right now, this kind of sharing mostly happens through existing contacts, which is great if you're already plugged in and much less great if you're not. The Bulletin Board lowers that barrier: one place, open to everyone, where visibility doesn't depend on who you already know.

Simplify your feed. It also solves a different problem: too much going on, no easy way to find the bit that matters to you. You can filter by category (jobs, funding, events, collaboration requests, and more) and by intended audience, so instead of scrolling an endless feed, you get straight to what's relevant to you.

This Board is a lightweight first version, deliberately simple, built to test whether this is genuinely useful before we invest further. Depending on what people actually use it for, we could see it grow: geographic filtering, tailored digest emails, notifications for new listings in your area of interest. That depends on people using it and telling us what's missing.
